How long have you been in business?
Security Engineers was incorporated in Birmingham, AL in Jan 1993, so we've been in business under the same management ever since - over 22 years!
What is your primary product or service?
"Engineers" is definitely a misnomer! We actually provide security guard service - uniformed security officers, both armed or unarmed. The most professional guard service in town!
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
Don Bottom, primary stockholder and CEO, has been in the private security business most of his life. He stared back in 1965 with the original Pinkerton Security Company! Then in 1978, because the youngest Division Vice President of Figgie International, one of the largest providers of security service in North America at the time. He went into Investment Banking as a Mergers & Acquisitions Consultant in 1991 before coming to Security Engineers in 1993. He started this company and has been the inspiration and leader ever since.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
Security Engineers focuses on hiring the best people and providing thorough training on how to become an excellent security officer. We conduct live training which is unique in this world of internet / online training courses. We still believe that a live instructor will provide the best interaction for people coming into the security industry and allow us to better understand the people we are choosing to wear our uniform.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
Security Engineers currently operates out of 12 branches or operation centers including the Corporate headquarters which houses the Central Communication and Birmingham Operation Center.
Which areas do you service?
Security Engineers is currently licensed in 11 states; Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia and West Virginia
What are your hours of operation?
Security Engineers operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. We NEVER close! Our Central Communication Center is staffed around the clock and our Field Supervisors are mobile 24 hours a day!
What is the best compliment anyone can give you?
